Hey, I have a 6 cylinder, 97 explorer, 4-wd with limited slip diff and disk brakes.
Can you tell me how much diff oil to add to completely refill the rear differential? (I am draining it tonight in order to change rear wheel bearings). Also, I bought 75W-90, not the 75W-140 someone told me I needed.
According to Hayne's it's 5.3 to 5.8 pints. Hayne's says 80W90 oil or 75W140 synthetic. Plus 4oz friction modifier for traction-lok. So, I'm assuming you just got regular gear oil instead of synthetic. I guess it will no longer be lubed "for life."
