Hello all, I have a 1994 F-150 with the 302 with a E4OD transmission.
This problem that I have was here in the summer last year, and went away when the cold winter hit. Now that it is warm out again it seems to have come back... Anyways when im driving at any speed, sometime it will seem like it is over reving and slipping when driving. the transmission is 1 yr old and they looked at it and said theres nothing wrong with the tranny. My question is what else could this be? Any input would be appreciated!
Is there anything that would cause this based on the temp outside and such? cause it seems to do it only when its warm.
No, havent pulled any codes or anything yet... is there any possibility that its vacuum related? I know i got a leak or something somewhere cause my AC sometimes will cut off blowing through the vents, and go down to the floor... but the thing thats weird is this shifting thing only does it when its been warm.
Your truck has to reach operation temp first, then if there is something wrong with the trans, the PCM or EEC will put the trans in limp or performace mode ..... As far as the vacuum leak,I don't know.....
Replace the TPS. I had the same problem, in the thread "Starter Solenoid." Check it out. I'll post back with results once I find out if the TPS change actually fixed it or not. It's an intermittent problem, so I won't know instantly.
Yea thanks... let me know how that goes... I did do some close up inspecting and did replace a few vacuum lines that were broke open, I'm now getting a good vacuum... So that should fix the air conditioning problem... One of the broken hoses went to a box, then down to the tranmission... So that might help the problem... might replace the tps and such too, just to be safe.
