Hey, I just finished installing a leveling kit for a 2001 250SD PS 4x4. After doing that, the steering wheel is off center now that the axle is farther away from the truck. Has anyone been in the same boat and if so, is there enough threads on the arm between the pitman arm and steering linkage to adjust it to line the steering wheel back up? Thanks

Reason: spelling
There should be more than enough threads left on the draglink joint to re-center the steering wheel. Just about all of us that have lifted our trucks have had to do this.
yes, you should have enough threads... just jack the fron tires off the ground, and make small adjustments.... then drive it and see...it might take a couple tries to get it right on.
The easiest way that I have found is to leave truck on ground, make sure tires are strait forward. Set P-Brakes. Turn key on to unlock steering, don't start. loosen bolts on draglink,(bar that runs from pitman arm to right side of alxe) and start twisting. Should take more that a couple of twist. It is easier if you have someone watch the steering wheel for you, if not you just have to crawl out and look. once you get the steering wheel where you want it, lock the adjustment down. Now although you steering wheel is back to center, you may have an issue with turning radiuses. I have less right turn and more left turn. I don't know how the recenter and the steering wheel without removing the pitman are and repositioning it. Also I have read of several folks here having problems with there trac bar bracket on the alxe breaking. It seems that the ones that are breaking comes from installing a leveling kit without changing the top trac bar bracket. I think the stock bracket puts too much stress on the lower bracket.IMHO Hope this helps.
Thanks, I played around with the adjustment yesterday and will have to do more to get the wheel dead on. The kit i added came with a bracked to relocate the trac bar to the right hight. were you talking about theses brackets braking or if the bar was left in the original position and then it breaking?

The replacement bracket is fine. What has happened to others is the kit did not come with the bracket and caused extra stress on the bracket on the axle. The welds on the axle are breaking due to the extra stress. If you already have the reposistioning bracket then you will not have to worry about that.
