Rusty freeze plugs
I never had this happen before; my '72 302 sprung a major coolant leak on the weekend. Turned out one of the frost plugs was rusted away...I could stick a screw driver right through it. Of course it was the one right behind the engine mount. Anyways all I could get on sunday was a replacement block heater so I put that in the hole so now I have a spare block heater...or dual block heaters.
Guess I'll have to replace them all...maybe over the winter when the truck is not being used.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
