So, I got this Sirius sattelite radio for Christmas and activiated it right away, so I've been listening to it for a few months now. Well, I liked it so much that I bought the boombox so I could use it outside when I work in the garage or the yard. Today, I'm goofing around at work (the calm before the storm...) and go to the Sirius website and there is an icon in the corner of the screen that says "listen." I log in and, Behold! I am listening to satellite radio at work! This is awesome!
I had XM in the car before it got run over. I pulled the deck but haven't got it installed in the new car yet. I'm going to switch to Sirius. Looked like they had a much better line up of channels. I wasn't unhappy with XM, just think Sirius will be better.
you think sirius is better too eh?im listnenig to mine right now. ive been looking at a portable carry it radio but the sirius is not the same but i love there country
I love my Sirius radio, I think it has better rock and comedy channels, but xm has a better country lineup. I don't listen to much country anyways, so Sirius rocks!
Now days when I ride in the wife's vehicle, I get frustrated when there is 2 commercials in a row... She doesn't drive enough to justify another receiver, and when we go on road trips I take the antenna from the DD and put in the Explorer. The only problem I have with the whole satellite industry is when I am using the boombox in the house and have to move the antenna because I lose the signal. It works great when I'm out in the yard, though. Now that I know I can use it from the computer, life is a bowl of cherries again.
Dish has Sirius on the programming, listen to it around the house for the sam subscription price.. haven't invested in a portable unit for the car or othewise.
My boss installed the XM studio broadcast sound booths at all their locations so we got a good deal on the XM radios. I listen to and enjoy Channel 5 & 6, '50's and '60s oldies. Also like the oldies country station (Hank's Place). Then I bought it for the wife's car too and put a holder in my truck so I can pull the radio out of the car when we take the truck on camping trips.
I now HATE to listen to regular radio because of all the commercials.
Either sytem has been a boom for the truck drivers. I can now listen to one station from coast to coast and never change the channels.(but i am male-so i channel surf!). I had to put my truck in the shop and take out a spare truck for a week. Forgot how much I hate broadcast radio. Should have took the time to relocate the system to the spare truck. Live and learn!
That's funny. I never put the two together! My wife gets onto me when I switch to another channel, but I never thought about the 'male' gene that makes us surf!!
I haven't listened to broadcast radio in over a year since I got Sirius.
I can't say enough good about it, except that i haven't had music interrupted by a commercial since I got it!
I've been listening to xm online for awhile now, glad to see sirius caught up. is sirius's online programming different at all? XM provides a few xtra channels, but doesnt have the news or sports online
