truck cutting out while driving

Recently my 95 ford F250 power stroke has been cutting out while I am driving down the road. It first started with a week ago and has done it about every time I drive it. If anyone has any suggestions on what might be causing this and how to fix it, it would be much appreciated.

Is it like just driving down the road and someone turned your key off?? Do you see your wait to start light blink on? When you try to start it does it fire back up? Has it 'burped' like it wanted to die but regained itself and kept going only to die on you in a few minutes?

It does all that

Yes it dies just like someone has turned the key off. I have not noticed the wait to start light but I'm sure it does blink. It does fire back up with no problem. And yes it does the occasinal "burp" and keeps running and on some occasions it dies shortly after.

Where is the cps sensor located. The reason I asked Ferroe all the questions about how it acts up is because I have noticed my 97 will do that too. Some times it will do it 4-5 times in 1 hour and then I'll be good for a week!! Is the sensor easy to replace?

Run a quick search on CPS and you'll find that it's easy to replace.

all you need to do is lay on your back. look up above harmonic balancer on passenger side. you need a 10mm to get it loose. it has a wiring harness coming out of it. you should buy 2 . one to replace the old with and one for the glove box. that is common around here to carry a spare that is how bad these sensors are. if not replaced sooner or later its gonna quit completely and leave you stranded. some of them dont even give the owner the time to find out whats wrong they just die on them the first time. get 2...
