Accumulator/receiver

Does anyone know if it makes any difference which direction the refrigerant flows through the accumulator? I am trying to figure out the problem with the A/C on my wife's Cadillac. The previous owner had the system repaired at some point and there is what looks like an arrow on the accumulator pointing in the opposite direction of the refrigerant flow. I am converting it to R134A and I want to be sure before I install the new accumulator. Thanks.

I would think that you want to follow the arrows.

Thanks. I retrofitted the system to R134A over the weekend and got everything flowing in the right direction. The problem turned out to be the orifice tube that had been incorrectly installed. So far everything is "cool."
