I tried putting a 4' whip style mounted on the bed right behind my rear glass in the center. Found it was having trouble getting ground, then went with a magnetice K-30...and is a much better antenna and much better reception. I mounted it on the top of truck as far back as it could go in the center...right directly centered with my 3rd brake light!

I have a mag-mount on the roof. Its a pain because I have to take it off to get in the garage door of the shop. When I build my half-rack soon, Im going to rack mount a fiberglass whip.
