just got a 2005 450r honda, and was wondering, does anybody take there quads with them when they go wheeling? i figure it would be a good alternative if you had some carnage and had to quit. anybody do that?
I started out to build a huge truck to go anywhere, and then got an atv. and then another. Now, I use my atvs more for offroading than my truck. The truck is great for bad weather on roads (trails) that you can't legally take an atv, but the atvs can do more stock than a modified pickup. Of course there is a limit, but my truck is mildly modified and the atvs can do lots.
what kind of off roading are u talking about? the 450r is a sport quad designed mainly for the track and trail. it wont to swamps or deep mud. but as far as trails and such go, i do alot more with my atv than my truck. my kfx400 is awsome. i can only imagine what that 450r must ride like!!!
im partial to my yamaha 350 wolverine...its a 4x4...but it shares the old warrior's engine and its lightweight, so it handles great and its peppy. you cant even tell its a 4x4
i know its outdated...but i love riding it..
i had to get away from the raptor and the banshee....i was going to kill myself
Yeah I was thinking about buyin a YFZ 450 from a guy i work with but thought diferently after all of the hospital bills and such. Could use all that money towards alot of different things also.
goped, its nice, i can romp it in 3rd pull the fronts. i hit some pretty deep stuff today, cant tell its red except where my legs rub it. ko, i like the speed of the raptors, but they seem to break alot when i ride, but i think its just me.
I have a 450es foreman with swamper vampires and it will more than hold its on in the mud and pulling but its a bit slow and tops out at only 50mph but ive been looking at the bombardier 800 it looks nice i just might get one.But im kinda partial to my honda since its my 3rd one and have never had a problem
Me an a buddy went our riding 4 wheelers tonite. I was on my '06 400AT Honda and he was on his '06 Kawasaki Brute Force 650. I will tell you one thing, if you want a 4 wheeler with power down low and with some Pep, Do NOT buy a Honda Rancher 400AT. I do believe mine is going back to the dealership an getting traded off for something like the Bombardier 400.
I NEED a raptor 700. I really can't wait to get it. The fiance wants to start riding too but doesn't want anything to big or a manual tranny. I am partial to Yamahas but their small displacement quads are still huge (LxW) unless you buy a kid bike.
i had a blaster....first major engine work i ever did...sunk over 1k into the motor when i was 14, stroked, ported, custom pipe shaved head etc.....it woudl scream....but the crappy suspension and really short wheelbase made it a scary ride
yeah, it is going to cost me ~$600 for a stock rebuild or ~$1100 for a nice ported/long rod rebuild..
the short wheelbase is kind of scary, but if I ever get it back together, it is going to get a 4" swing-arm extention and some decent shocks.. should do the trick.. or I'll sell it for $600 and buy a 400EX.
Im selling my Foreman 450s in a week or so and getting a '05-'06 WR450F. I thought I'd go back to riding dirtbikes for a while. Plus, the 450s is way too slow for me...tops out at about 45mph with me on it. The WR will easily be able to do 90mph all day long...
