front axle question
ok this is weird
a freind of mine has a 79 f350 460 , factory was a 2wd but now is 4wd, the hub broke on it and he cant find parts for it. the front pumpkin is on the passenger side he thinks its a (4.10 or 4.11) Dana 70 (numbers say like M70 but i cant remember) so is that military? there is a tag on the door that is like 6inches by 6 inches that tells where it was built at its in kentucy or tennesse-he called them and they are out of buisness now. im kinda thinking it came out of a dodge but not sure. it has leaves- lots of leaves- and on the frame you can see all the old coil spring mounts and etc. i dont know how to put pictures on here or i would mostly becouse it looks like a bad sob

Pumpkin is on the passengers side and it is a Dana 70... Sounds to me it is out of a Dodge or a IHC . You should contact your local Auto parts dealer with the number of the dana diff and see if they can match one up. Or you could count the number of spline, measure the inner/outer axle shaft and match it up with this handy chart that I use to get axle shafts machined.

ill talk to him tonight
he didnt break the axle he broke a part in the hub not to sure what but he said it looked like a gear just behind the lockout. he went to ford and they couldnt find the part so i looked it up in a magizine for gears (reider racing) and i guessed dodge but wasnt to sure
