Tranny ID?
I have a 1977 Ford 2-WD F150 w/ a 302 V8 and a 3-Spd Automatic transmission. Does anyone know what model transmission I have in this truck or could tell me how to ID which one I have. I am in the process of rebuilding the engine and I want to freshen up the transmission at the same time. I plan on changing the fluid, filter, and gasket for sure, but is there anything else I should do while I'm at it? Thanks.

You can use the transmission pan cover and bolt pattern the model of transmission on your truck. http://www.bulkpart.com/fordid.html

1975Ford, From the site you gave and the tranny pan that I have they say it is either a C4 or C5 transmission. Whats the difference between a C4 and C5 Tranny? Is the designation on the tranny anywhere? Thanks.
