'90 E250 questions
Been thinking about buying one of our vans at work, a '90 E250 cargo van. I can get it for dirt cheap (about $400-$500). I was thinking of using some parts from it for my '47 1 ton, but will prob drive it for a bit. Specs of van: 5.0L, overdrive auto trans. Here's my question(s), it starts fine, but once it is in gear it seems to idle very low, it desn't die, just kind of feels like it. While driving it the trans is sluggish, gotta really stomp it to get it to accelerate quickly. I know it needs a trans, but could that also be behind the engine probs in gear?

is the factory radio still in the ? van and does your speedo and dash lights work? I know this sounds crazy but when i got my van the factory radio was missing and the dash lights did not work and the tranny was sluggish and whining. when I got the dash lights wired correctly the van had power in first gear.
funny how ford has such important wires bundled in the radio wiring harness.

Eh, I passed on the van. It is still sitting at work, I figured, I don't need another vehicle, got way too many as it is. The van has a good service record, it is one of our company trucks, and as such has to pass Highway Patrol inspections and such.
