a short?

a short?
1990 f250 7.5l efi. i'm stopped ready to make a turn and the blinkers go on, evertime the little arrow lights up on the gauge thing, the voltage meter dips a little with every flash. anyone know what the probably may be? what and where i should look for whatever problem? this is a short somewhere, right? thanks in advance

the alternator is but a few months old. the voltage meter remains high, the alternator is working just fine... it's been doing the dip thing for a while now and i just want to get rid of it. so, would this be a short somewhere i could get to and fix it?

I had a problem like this in my truck i took the steering wheel of and on the wires going to the selector switch the insulation was rubbed off i soliderd in new wires and taped the connections has worked fine ever since hope this helps some

For a while I had a beaten up end on my positive battery cable. It wouldn't tighten well anymore and I was just too lazy to fix it. Every once in a while the truck wouldn't start, and I knew right away what it was...the battery cable AGAIN. Anyway, back to the point of all this. One of the tell tale signs that I was going to have to retighten soon was the exact symptom you're describing. The truck didn't always do it, but when I did notice it I'd just hop out, give the cable a twist on the terminal and All Better.
Start simple, remove battery cables, clean the terminals and reinstall. Just my $.02
