temp gauge not working
i have a 93 f250 with the 4.9 300. the truck had not been driven for years and needed a new engine. i put a reman 300 in its place and have slowly been fixing problems as i find them. one problem that i have not been able to fix is the temp gauge on the dash, which does not work. i replaced the coolant temperature sensor on the front of the engine right off of the thermostat, which had no effect. whats next?

I believe there are two temperature sensors on the 300 engine. One in the front of the engine goes to the computer and one on the rear of the engine goes to your dash temperature indicator.
The temperature sensor is buried on the rear passenger's side of the engine under the intake manifold runner for #6 cylinder.

Actually, it's a very common mistake. You see one single wire hangin and you're like hmmm. OH WELL! Then your temp gauge doesnt work, so you replaces the 3 wire sensor, and it STILL dont work! Oh well though, at least the computer is definately getting an accurate reading now!
