Welp, after a couple days hard work, I swapped the body off of my 1970 for a 1972 body that was in a lot better shape. This will do for winter. Body work and paint to come next spring. Just thought someone might be interested in seeing it. My truck has the axles, transmission and transfer case from a '79 bronco in it. I stroked the 360 to a cool 390 cubic inches. 4" of suspension lift and 33" tires get me around. Let me know what you think.
The green and yellow truck was the original. The brown truck is the swapped body.
Looks like a whole different truck!
How did you hoist off the heavier parts?
What was the hardest part of the swap?

I had access to a forklift for the times I was alone. However, with the help of 3 other guys, every part of the body was easily lifted off (took the doors of the cab first). The hardest part was getting all of the body lines to match up. I installed new polyurethane mounts while I was at it.
