Hello i have 85 F150 302 EFI auto trans with OD, at no certain speeds but does jump harder at lower speeds seems like a shudder/jumping that can be felt through out the whole truck not coming from rearend idles a little rough but does not shake or jump at idle. new items installed recently are O2 sensor and ECM, putting new engine in next week because of low oil pressure due to worn cam bearings. checked the Ujoints and carrier bearing they are fine. Anyone have any ideas also tranny seems to be up shifting and down shifting just fine.
that year aod was problem matic to say the least. if you can find one in an 87+ you will be in good shape. is the fluid level full and have you done a fluid/filter change?
Ok i found out the problem. Did the tranny service but didnot fix it. But needed done anyway. Replaced the engine with a Long block 302 from AutoZone. Problem went away. Took the bottom end of the OLD 302 partially apart, the rear main journal bearing was worn so bad that it was beyond paper thin, wierd thing about it was it had no nocking but did have low oil pressure. By the way the long block engine from AotoZone came with full gasket install kit and new oil pump as well as a 3 year 36000 mile warranty for $1100.00.
