trailer light problems

trailer light problems
I was directed to post this over here.
I'm wondering if this is some kind of relay or module or some other dodad I have no clue about.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had the exact same problem with my 97 F150. All of the wiring at the plugs, and all of the fuses checked out 100%. I ended up running a jumper wire from the right rear taillight to the 7pin trailer plug and my problem was solved. Kind of frustrating to never really figure out the cause of the problem, but my solution worked fine.
