Lost 3rd gear

Lost 3rd gear
I just bought a 99 F350 with a 6 speed and 150,000, and I noticed that it sometimes would grind into 4th gear. I got one heck of a deal so I wasnt all that concerned, but today it wont stay in 3rd. It almost feels like the clutch wont fully disengage, but other than 4th grinding I have no problems. Anyone have any ideas? Im only into the truck $3000, but would rather it be a clutch problem than a tranny. Thanks guys.

Assuming the clutch hydraulics are good, which they probably are if the pedal operates smoothly and the reservoir is full, I would guess a bent release for or bad synchros. The fork is easy and inexpensive...if the guts are going south you'll be into that truck for another $3000 before it's done.

If the problems are isolated to just third, then you have a transmission problem.
