I have what I hope is a simple question. On my '99 F150, I've gone through all the trouble shooting I know of yet I still can't figure out why my right brake/ turn signal lights don't work through the factory trailer connection. I've checked all the fuses and the truck lights are working. I've even unpluged the wiring harness at the rear of the bed (next to the spare tire) and checked the terminals to see if it was just a broken wire at the rear of the truck. When I traced the green wire from the trailer plug to the matching socket in the harness plug there is no power there either. I'm stumped.
Check the fuse box under the hood. My '97 had the same problem, and it was a blown fuse. If yours is the same as mine, there are a couple of fuse boxes on the drivers side of the engine compartment. Check your owners manual, it should be able to guide you to the right fuse.

Thanks for the replies.
Originally I had no trailer lights at all. I checked the box under the hood and found 3 blown fuses. One was the interior power point, one was the lights and I'm not sure what the other was. I'll recheck all the fuses again but would just the right brake/ signal light be on another circuit?
I had to fight with ine, and even to the point of replaceing all the wiring on the trailer. Everything checked out OK the the plug on the back of the truck, but nothing when I plugged int he trailer. It was my connector on the trailer.
