Air susp compressor?

How would you know if your compressor is going bad?. Mine started making a weird loud noise, but the truck levels itself fine is just the compressor making that noise like it was hitting something down there. By the way where is it located, the truck is a 99 EB 2WD with 125k. Would a compressor from a 4X4 fit my truck thanks in advance.

The compressor is located on the passenger side of your engine compartment behind the headlight. If the suspension levels fine you probably are in need of a set of new rubber isolators, when they wear out the compressor gets noisy.

The 4x4 compressor and motor will work, but there is a difference between the 2 wheel and 4 wheel accessories, additional hose outlets on the 4 wheel version.

I have a 2 wheel unit for sale if you are interested.

isolators

99red do a search for my name and you should fine a ford part number for a redesigned compressor mounting bracket and new designed isolators---mine were shot in three yrs---this new bracket pretty much silenced it---

It is possible your compressor is failing but likely it's the bushings---you can check them before buying the part to be sure.
