Seeking Advice
I own a 1953 F100 that I have recently decided to make into a semi-street Rod. I bought the Truck 21 years ago as a young guy, parked it in an old Barn in North Alabama, and have patiently waited until my kids were out of the nest to turn it into a semi street-Rod.
As a real novice I have contracted with a nice fellow to help with the "frame-off" body resoration, but I need some help with basics such as how to best select engines, auto transmissions, rear ends, disk brakes just to get started. The truck is pretty rough, not drivable, but fortunately it has been in the dry all these years so not too much rust damage.
It was exciting to find this site in hopes to find a Ford Truck show to attend this spring/summer preferably in the Southeast. Need to make a decision on drive train soon. This truck will be a driver, not a trailer only vehicle so it needs to be comfortable enough to drive on weekend trips of less than 500 miles. It would be nice to sport 350hp to 400hp but not critical.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions for Ford Truck gatherings or drive trains.

We are happy to have you! There is a ton of great info on this site. But, before you go snooping around there are a few things you need to do first.
1) Want to meet or talk to other members in your area? There are Provincial, State and International Chapters located near the bottom of the main forum page.
2) Before you post a thread asking a question be especially aware of where (what forum) to place it in. FTE is HUGE! Make sure you read the Read First: at the top of the forum before you go posting.
3) And finally you should review the Guidelines. They will kind of give you an idea of what is and isn't allowed on this site ("The Rules").
And that is it. I hope you enjoy the FTE "Experience"! This is a great place and we have lots of fun while exchanging valuable info. If you have any questions or problems do NOT hesitate to contact me. Just click my username then send me an email.
