Attempting to mount a 1964 cab on a 66 frame looks quite interesting but we have done some measuring and it seems plausable and we are going to attempt it. ill keep ya posted it might take a while still doing minor repairs to the cab. doing a frame off restoration.
That's great. Take a LOT of pictures, do a lot of diagragms with measurements, and you will be the King, no GOD of '64 to later frame swap!
Seriously, there are a lot of folks who would like to do this swap, but the challenges are more than they want to take on. Your contribution of knowledge would be a tremendous one.
You will have to move your cab mounts on 66 frame in order to do this swap but it is no big deal if you have the skills, equipment, and facility to do it. I have some pix I can fwd you. I will PM you through this site. I will gladly send them to you.
Hey, Garbzee, better clarify for him that your '66 Crew is just like the '64 and earlier.
It isn't like a regular '66 or '65 twin I-beam.
You'll get the poor guy REALLY confuzled if he thinks you have a regular '66!
like i said i havent started yet still have minor repairs ill try to take pictures. yes i have the tools and the facility i will take measurements for sure currently we have a rough idea we already have everything for the steering column and firewall because the 66 cab is still here. i would like to try and sell it and the front clip from the 66. ill keep you posted.
