96 Explorer rough start...Sometimes
My wifes Exolorer is having some issues,it has 80,000 miles and is in great shape but within the last two weeks a problem has occured. She went to lunch the other day and did a couple of errands shut the truck off went into a store for a couple of minutes came out went to start the truck and it just barley idled. Step on the gas RPM's come up no problem let your foot off the gas and back to just barley idling. No black smoke nothing out of the ordinary out the tailpipe.Picked her up dropped her off back at work truck sat for about 3 1/2 hours went back to see what I could do with it turned the key and its like nothing was wrong started fine ran fine up untill today, same isuue appeared again.Let it sit and it started with no issue??I was wondering if anyone would have a clue as to what could be causing this? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking in advance

Apparently Ford put paper, or thin card board type things.
I had the most problem when the temps dropped below 50 degrees, once it warmed up it was fine, but it would not run on its own when I first started it.
We took the gaskets out and put new ones in.. Chugging stopped and ran great.. MPG even went up.
