well i just picked it up yesterday and my dad drove it home because i dont know how to drive the three speed yet and he said that it was jumpin a lil and that it ran great on the highway...it hadnt been cranked for about a year since yesterday and we let it warm up before we took it off on the road...get out there today to go crank it and the dern thing wont start...what do yall think? bad connection? battery dead? or did my grandpa give me a dud lol?
I just had a recent problem with a bad connection at the starter solenoid. The first place i would look is at your battery connection and starter relay connections. It doesn't take much corrosion or a loose connections to screw things up. Also ive heard that the wires goin to the starter have been known to melt a little, (exposing the bare wires) from the heat created by the exhaust headers.
Do you have a way to check the battery voltage or jump it to see if it will start that way. Clean all connection from the battery to the starter to make sure you are getting a good connection. Could be your not getting any voltage to the solenoid from your ignition switch. Hope this helps. Good luck.
