When I bought my '96 Expy the transfer case was unplugged.
When I plugged it back in I could hear a knock in front when accelerating and when reversing.
I figured it would be the CVs, so I hit them with my fist and they knocked.
The thing is, there's no lateral movement, only longditudinal movement.
Does this mean they're stuffed or is something else going on?
If you turn your wheel Hard to the left and to the right and you here clicking theres a good chance that the CV joints are bad. The U-joints could be bad bad and the Differential could be bad to. Pull the front drive shaft and see if it still makes the sound if so you need to look at the Differential. Good luck!
