I am running a Wood boiler out in my garage to heat water and then have Pex lines to the house with an heat exchanger in my forced air furnance,
Pic of my stove set up
Since this picture I have put a room around the stove to isolate it from the rest of my garage. I have to reroute the overflow line that is now traveling down the front left side of the stove. "so when I over fill the system it will drain to the flor drain in the garage and not make a mess in the room that the stove is in" Would there be any gains for me to bulid an S trap "like what is under sinks" into my overflow line?
or can I just extend the overflow line outside of the stove room to the floor and point it towards the floor drain and call it good?
thanks again for your help and I hope my Question makes sense
when I get this rerouted I will be pointing towards the drain and about 2 foot away from it and the slope of the floor will take care of the rest of it for me.
It's nice to put a "p" on the drain side of a water supply tank that's also used for the condensate return. This extra resistance will cause any hot/moist air up the flue outside and not into the room at the drain. Since this looks like a somewhat closed system with no vent flue for the water tank, probably not needed. (Nice setup btw...)
