I recently bought an 02 F250 that came with a Lund sun visor. I noticed right away that 2 of the fastening bolts were loose. Looks like they were replaced with oversized already.
Wondering what options exists to correct the issue? If not considering removing it and having body shop repair the holes.
Nutsert (the one I used [a simple handtool is available])
Same problem on the 95 F-250 I had. Used the Nutserts with the handtool as well. Bought some nice stainless 1/4-20 bolts and polished them. Looked better, never loosened up again, and cut down some of the noise (since I was able to really wrench on it, as opposed to the junk self drilling screws). Was able to borrow the tool from my body shop, so it cost me less then $10 for the hardware.
Vibration causes a lot of the problems. Providing the mounting holes are completely oversize for the bolts you can back them out, coat them with a good, clear, silicone and re-install. Tighten w/ a 1/4 drive (so you don't over-torque) and let silicone set for 24 hours (if you can). The silicone creates a waterproof seal and will absorb the vibration that loosens the bolts in the first place.
