I have an 03, V6, 4X2 with 52,000 miles and have had no problems at all. Just keep it maintained and it should last a while, I would change the trans fluid at 30K and not the 100K miles the schedule suggests. Take it to the dealer to have it done, it runs about $100 depending on where you live.

I have an '03 xlt with 38k miles on it. I have had the rear replaced for the whining (fruitless effort as it is whining again) and I had a failed PCM that needed replacing. Had a no crank problem several times but believe it was related to the failing PCM. Time will tell once summer arrives.
