I have an 06 fx4 and dont know what differential i have in front i would like to know, i tryed looking at DANA's web sight but no help. How do i find out and if someone knows can they tell me what it has. 2cd..I want 4.88 gears do they make them for whatever diff i have thanks
ya mine has 4.10s also but when i lift it the 33s are gunna need more gear and 4.56's arent enough.. and from what ive read the fx4's have 31 spline axles in the rear but i caint find any info on the front
I just wanted to chime in and say that I agree with your line of thinking on going to 4.88's. Saying this from first hand experience, While 4.56's would probably be close to your stock gear ratio with the 33's, going a step beyond that to 4.88's is the right move. It will help with added weight of larger wheels and tires and the added wind resistance from the added width of the larger, wider tires.
ya there is no quetion in my mind about the choise of the 4.88 except do they make them?.....and wendell borror i have an level II, ididnt know the standard had 28's good to know. and now i can look for gears thanks
The level2 has 31 spline rear axles, with a torsen lsd, the fx offroad has 28 spline axles, with a ford trac-loc lsd, both i'm pretty sure have dana 35's in the front. So if you have a level2, you should have 31 spline axles, and a torsen lsd.
Hey wendell - I am waiting for our uhhhh.....friends to tell us that lift kits don't actually lift the truck, they just appear to..or some bs like that...lol Sorry bout that 06fx4, inside joke there with wendell -
