I ended up getting 9k for it. Not bad I guess. Spent all morning taking my speakers, amp, subs, cb, etc. out of it and then took it up to carmax and sold it.
Drove over to the mazda dealer and started talks on a black 2006 mazda3 5 door S Touring with 5 speed auto sport tranny (manual shift mode, woo!) 17inch alloy wheels, Its a really cool looking car I think. It has the 2.3 duratech engine also, which is good for about 160hp. As of tonight its at 19, 625 on the road. (anyone think i can get it for cheaper??)
Anyway, just thought i'd share. I'm not leaving you guys, just needed a more efficient vehicle for work and college next year. I'm planning on saving up and getting a project Bronco for offroading in a couple of months. anyone know of a mazda forum? mazda-cars.com/forums .. hehe.
I just purchased a Mazda Tribute for the wife 6cy and it gets 21 to 23 mpg, lots of pep. I have had two other Mazdas a 626 and a MPV and never had any problems. Both over 100k miles when I sold them.
If you think an automatic with a manual shift mode is exciting, maybe you should consider getting a car with, you know, a manual transmission. Kicks a shiftable automatic's butt six ways to Sunday as far as fun to drive...
Well, its the best of both worlds. If I don't feel like shifting just put in in Drive, if i do i can. And I don't know how to drive a manual either (we don't own any, so i haven't had the chance to learn..) so i really don't know if i want to be shifting every day all the time.
Does anyone know how I should go about 'breaking in' the new car when i get it?
I know someone wrote up a big thing for breaking in a new v10 superduty, anyone know of a procedure or something similar for my new car?
The sad isnt the day you sold the truck. The sad day will be when you are going to need a truck or you decide that a small car isnt cutting it anymore and you should have kept your truck.
We haven't plenty of other trucks around here I can use if i 'need' one, I've just been driving one because I like trucks, I don't think i've hauled anything. I towed a trailer a few times, but thats just because I wanted to use my truck and not one of my dad's. I've never used it for its 'intended' purpose like i hear about on this site so much, just some 4x4ing (which is what the bronco is going to be for in a few months.) So.. yep.

I agree with that statement 100%. As much as I like my Focus and the gas mileage I have been having the itch for a truck again. It's probably because I hang around all you guys!
Renting a truck to haul something is cheaper than driving a truck every day. Now, if your like me and you prefer a truck, you eat the extra cost and smile.
Dad had a Mustang for a while to help with gas mileage (6-cyl model), but the cost of owning the Mustang was more than just driving the truck, which he needs to use as a truck regularly.
