66' f100 Shotbox stepside
New to Ford trucks just bought a 66'f100. Don't even know which motor or tranny(6cyl three in tree). Door post codes

f100 81 c c2
Stock original paint truck almost no rust from a ranch in Montana.
Are the the right #'s for decoding ?
I am a newly converted chevy guy and am not familiar. Looks like a great site i will continue to read on

I'm not sure what your second group of #s means but the first group indicates the following:
F10=F100
B=6 cylinder 300 cu. in. 150 h.p.
K=assembled at the Kansas City Plant
816843 is the assembly line run # for the month of Feb. 1966

Don't worry too much about the serial number, ya gots what ya gots. Sounds like you have a nice pickup to start with though.

F-100 means 1/2 ton rated
81 refers to the Cab, 81A = Standard cab, an 81B= Custom Cab,
C= 3 spd Light Duty Column Shift Manual transmission
C2 = 3.73 Rear axle ratio
