bracket for mounting toyota steering box

who makes the best bracket for the Toyota power steering conversion for my 58 F100. I've read here that some brackets are pretty cheap and that I would be better off making my own. Anyone have a template they would send me? I would like to get this done. Thanks, John

Many folks make a bracket for the 53-56 series trucks and these brackets (with a few holes in the frame to match the holes in the bracket) will work with the earlier 48-52 F series trucks. Not sure if the same holds true for the 58 truck or not. If the frame is basically the same it shouldn't be any big deal to adapt one - I've heard good things about Mid-Fifty and Classic Performance Products brackets and there are probably others. Cost is about $100.

I decided to use the manual Toyota box and since I have to make the pitman arm anyway (no one makes a pitman for the splines on the manual box) I decided to go ahead and make the bracket as well. I'll be happy to send you a template when I've got the job done but I won't promise how fast that will be! I've seen designs made from angle iron and some from flat bar - I'll be making mine from 3/8" flatbar stock because I have that in the shop.
