ok here is deal have a chance to buy f150 lariat crew cab, need to know what to look for. truck has 6000 miles on it in excellent shape they are asking from dealer 30,595 is this good deal? oh forgot to say it is 05. need to know if that whine that you guys are talking about in the differential is very common or few and far between tell me what you guys think.
I would look at some new ones!!! I got my xlt 4x4 for almost 10,000 under sticker.
I saw an add in the local paper yesterday for 12,000 under sticker with rebates.
IS that the sticker price or the final price out the door. If its the sticker price I dont know about lariat but that seems a little steep. I purchased my 05 FX4 SuperScrew for 27,715 brand new in nov of 05 in florida. This does not include tax and licensing fees. Its loaded 4x4 , 5.4, power everything and leather interior also it has the upgraded stereo with factory sub. The only thing it doesnt have is a moonroof.
I'd agree. I bought a 06 f150 Screw Lariat (brand new) 2wd loaded with options.
Sticker on the car was about 40K. I drove it off for 30K. This was NOT a teaser ad
truck from the newspaper. (I also got a full tank of gas - worth about $90 bucks here)
Also, I did some homework on the Ford extended warranty prices on the web. Printed out some quotes. I was able to get the finance guy to 'really sharpen his pencil' with this information in-hand.
I think you can get a better deal. I picked up my 05 Lariat Super Crew (4x2)loaded with all options in January for $28,000 (plus tax & licensing) The truck had 25 miles on it.
thanks for welcoming to board, just came back from two different dealers, one able ford here in new york looking at new trucks 06 fx4, 4x4 leather seats , sunroof everything , wont come off of price hardly at all really sucks liked the truck but prices are ridiculous sticker is 41000, say they will give it to me for 39000 to me thats not coming down at all. other dealer wantagh ford was even worse. thats why the slightly used 05 looks good to me.
Come on down to NC! You can find 04's and 05's for 22,000-26,000. They are all southern trucks that haven't seen snow or salt and most of them are loaded out! I just got my 04 Lariat Screw 4x4 for 22,000. That was tax title and tags!
I wouldn't be paying anything close to the second sticker price. Sounds like finding a different dealer willing to deal would be time well spent!! Your target price to pay should be $4 - $5 k under the first sticker price. Or better of course...

Actual sale prices on F150's in Southern California are at least $7,500 under MSRP (the sticker price on the window). If you really want to buy a new one, start with CarsDirect.com and get a price for the truck you're looking at with all options. Take that to a dealer with you and make them an offer. If you can't find a dealer to sell you the truck for the CarsDirect price, CarsDirect will send you to a dealer that will sell it to you for that price.
F1Sony: I will put a lot of money that you could get that exact truck for 31 - 32k. There are only a few options I don't have on mine and I am ~12k below that price.
heck, I even have the sun roof!!!!
Bruce has a great point. Most dealers will beat the cars direct price by a good margin.
