I have a 1968 F100 with a 360 2v w/C6 automatic trans. I would like to replace this engine with a 429 from a 1968 T-Bird w/C6 trans. Is this a straight swap or will I need major mods. Any advice on this subject is welcome.
Gary, It is Not a direct swap. The tranny, engine perches, and other things will have to be changed also since the 429 is from a different engine family. Most guys would rebuild to or swap in a 390.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
Gary, if you want something like the 429.....get a 390 block and have it sonic tested so that it can be stroked out to a 428. You'll need the 428 crank which are somewhat hard to find and a bit pricey, but this is another option. I'm happy with mine
