Newbie with ?'s

Hello all, I just purchased a 2001 EB Expedition with 48k with the 4.6 4x2 and absolutely love it! After I got it home tonight I noticed that the rear windshield wiper does not work, the sprayer does, but the wiper will not move at all.

Is this a common problem? if so, what should I look at for a fix?

btw, I have been browsing this site for the past 2 days and viewed atleast 50 pages of very informative information regarding expeditions. Major props to all the member's here.

First I would check the fuse. Make sure your back hatch window is seated all the way as I believe wiper won't work if it isn't. Could be something in your switch or also bad wiper motor.

my old 97 expy was like that at first - turned out the arm was just a bit stuck somehow. have you tried manually moving it while it's engaged? does it make a sound like the motor is trying to work it?

Rear Wiper Motor Problems

Similar problems have been reported by many posters. Quite a few report a bad motor.
