i'm new to restoring and it would help if anyone could tell me where to find a repair book for a 72' F-100
and how can you tell the difference between the trucks years?
High Performance Ford Engine parts Interchange by George Reid:

Chiltons Tuneup and Repair Manual (small - fits under the seat - has tuneup specs - would not be the only manual to buy, just somethng for the truck)
Factory Shop manual from motorhaven.autoanything.com (here on-line). $50 A bit of change and I saved for it, but, worth the price and has come in real handy especially for torque specs. It is hard to beat a copy of the Ford shop manual.
eBay usually has shop manuals for your truck. That's what I would recommend. You can also get a CD version of the manuals from this site. I have both but I don't care for the CD version (Detroit Iron). It's just a bunch of images (no search capability or other electronic advantages).

I should have mentioned how you do this in case you are unfamiliar with eBay. Just go to www.ebay.com. In the search box in the upper right corner, type "1967 ford truck" and you will see current offerings.

I have Chilton's "Ford Pickups 1965-86". It's Chiltons #6913.
I can't recall where I got it. I ordered it online, Amazon or Barnes & Noble probably. I like it. It's handy to have when working on the truck. I do wish it had more photos though.
