looking at replacing my brake system.on my 51 f1
anyone use any kit special?
if so did you need to replace the factory crossmember with and aftermarket trans mount?
I put power brakes on my 48 F1.I had to use the factory crossmember so I could use my stock pedal.I had to cut out the crossmember so my tranny would fit.I also made a mount to bolt it to.This was a kit to use mustang2 brake booster and master cylinder.I can post a pic later if it will help.

I got rid of the factory trans x-member. I used the trans x-member out of my donor car, a 72 Caddy to mount the TH400.
I made my own hanging brake pedal assy using a pedal, pivot, and spring assy from a late 90's Ford focus. I also used the power booster from the focus. When I made the pedal assy I made sure to connect it to the firewall, dashboard, and steering column. I mounted a late 70's GM Master cylinder to this and so far it seem to work pretty good.
I also added a line-lock solenoid into the system....just for grins
