There has got to be a way to check if they are good without putting in a new one
I believe there is Duane, when you're stuck by the side of the road with a truck that will not run, you have a faulty CPS. I know how you feel. I wish there was a way but I've not heard of one. Has not happenned to my truck but did happen to a T-Bird SC I had long ago. I spent big$$$ replacing things until I found the problem.
replacing the cps is not a big deal
you need a 6 point 10mm socket nd possibly a screwdriver
do a search for cps and you'll find a writeup on it
many carry and extra in their glovebox
I dont need it but where I work we run a fleet of PSD's and I got one one the other day when they replaced it. The problem still was there after the replacement with the new one. The actual problem was just a bad connection at the sensor. I was just trying to find a way to check the old one without having to put it on my truck.
