dumb excursion diesel question
OK, so the wife is still at HELL NO, on F350 truck, so i started looking at the EX's again.
Long story short i was talking to a few friends that have diesels and one of them said that the 6.0 in the ex does not have the same computers and what not as the F250-550's and that the programs from bully dog and edge etc dont work as good as they do on a truck. Now im not the brightest crayon in the box but that sound like the dumbest thing i have ever heard. I tried the search feture and it pulled up like 500 pages of stuff on excurstions.
So bottom line will all the fun go fast stuff work on a 05 EX diesel like they would a 05-06 F250-350 diesel?

What he MAY have been trying to tell you is that the '05 Excursions don't use the updated motor that comes in the '05 trucks. The '05 was an extensive update year for the 6.0L. Check out the '05 updates here.... http://dan.prxy.org/Truck/6L_bible_html/html/TOC.html
My '05 engine has a build date of 08/05 and the sticker says it's an '05 but the spec sticker still state 560 ft/lbs torque, which is pre '05. It's basically a 'leftover' '04.
Ford did the same thing with the V10's. The Excursion never got the 3 valve motor.
