In searching for a new Fx4 I found a '05 fully loaded . It will sell for about the same price as a '06 - power leather captin chair, ,-moon roof,-elec slider window, and many others. Both vechicles are new . Does any one have a reason why it would be better to go with the '06?
apples to apples, go with the 06. I was in a similar situation, however the 05 had tan interior (don't mix well with 2 black labs). The price was a bit lower on the 05, but in the end, the 06 offered what I needed and that is what I went with.
There is no reason why you should not be able to get the 05 at a significant discount oer the 06. No dealer wants left over stock sitting on the lot. An 05 on the lot means one less 06 for them to sell.
Higher resale, who's kidding who! If he can get the 05 at a much larger discount, he may be better off in the long rung. Both vehicles depreciate at the same rate.
So if you don't pay as much upfront, then you could possibly be further ahead on the 05 with the depreciation.
I just bought an 05 Fx4 left over, and i got $5000 in rebates, $4000 from ford and $1000 matching down payment. if they are both the same truck with the same options i dont see how a 3000 rebate compares to 5000. the 05 should be cheaper. thats just my opinon
Thanks for the replies, Both trucks are new not ever registered. Both are Fx4 3.73 limited slip, reverse sensor,Run boards, tow pack, mirror pack. and 35.7 Fuel tank The 05 fx4 options include leather captains chairs, Power Driverseat, Moon roof, Power rear slide, 18 in Wheels, door key pad,two tone paint, 6 cd . The '06 includes Cloth captains chairs, reverse sensor, 20 in wheels and sliding rear window.
If the price difference is as much or more than the used value between one model year of the vehicle when it is the age you normally trade, get the 05, if not, get the 06. The prices are not really accurate at NADA.com but the difference should be close.
