out board help

i have a 1957 johnson 7.5 hp outboard and i am looking to replace it with a briggs and stratton 5hp. just wondering if any one has any experince with these motors?

you're replaceing your outboard with a b&s? I'd stick with a company who knows how to build an outboard

I would too. In their defense, it is simply a 2 stroke engine...i think they can handle it.

My brother-inlaw probably has the parts to fix your engine under my mother-in-laws house. That's where he stores his older engine parts. He has been working on Evinrude/Johnsons since 1971. He has been a factory authorized mechanic with his own Buisness since 1990. Give me Model #'s and Serial #'s and I can see what I can do!
