With my truck running i pulled the vaccum hose to the EGR and i was getting no vaccum. The hose runs back to a little switch/solenoid thing with 2 wires coming out of it. Then a black hose comes out of the solenoid and goes to the vaccum resovoir. THe black hose IS getting vaccum. So either my switch is broke, or i wonder if converting it to MAF would have anything to do with it? I know i had to rewire some of those wires. Would i be okay just hooking it directly to the intake manifold and bypassing that switch/solenoid?
Also, when i pull the connector off my IAC valve, nothing happens. I put on an IAC from a junkyard and it didnt make a bit of difference. It is my understanding that when the truck is idling and you pull the IAC it should die, or run really rough. When i pull the connector, the idle doesnt even change. ANy ideas here? could the 2 be related? COuld it be something do to with the cam i put in? The mass air conversion?
okay, so the switch must turn on and let vaccum in at idle. I"m still wondering about the IAC though. It doesnt seem to do anything if i unplug it at idle. I dont get any codes related to the IAC valve.
