I just ground the side smoothe and JB Welded the opening. It still looks fine 20 years later. The bad thing is that all the floor shifters for the 3 speed are rattlers. The best one I could find was the Hurst/Indy and was not much better than a Sparkomatic. I have a 4-speed now and the shifter never makes a sound. I never could find a quality 3-speed shifter.

rattles? this must be on a manual one, I have a as my friend called it a "pinto" shifter in my truck this is what was in it when i got it, I would like a bigger one that is taller so i dont have to lean down to shif mine is a auto tho.
