Ok, my 88 Bronco just outright died on me. On the freeway. while trying to start, the battery only aloud 3 cranks then died. could not jump start. Replaced battery. Now it cranks and cranks and cranks. BUT NO SPARK. I checked the control modual, AZ said it was good. I bought new coil, still nothing., Put old coil back in, and got another ditributer from junkyard. (Because we damaged mine taking it apart) Reused my control module, truck started. Then we put air intake hose back on, and tightened up bolt for dist, and the dang thing has no spark again. Kinda like a sike i guess. Truck sat for 2 days. Any other suggestions i might be missing? Other than replacing the computer?

I'm going to assume we are talking about the 93 here. Have you pulled the codes from the EEC computer? A bad PIP sensor or ignition module will trigger a fault code. Either COULD be the problem but the codes should give a better indication of which it is. Sounds like you may have a short in the wiring harness that is damaging the PIP sensor since you said you replaced the dizzy and it started and ran until you disturbed the distributor. But again, thats only a guess.

Its a 88 3.0. My 93 was stolen last year. Um a short? I hope not. Ive looked, but seen nothing. If you can give me some pointers on how to back track some of the wires supling power to dist. (Dizzy?) Tried messing with relays. only have 3 i believe. 2 together, and a tow one on the firewall. Checked all fuses. My truck only has the ones under the dash. None that say they are ecm. Not sure why it fired, then died again. Hasn't fired since. Getting a huge headach here. Also just worked over 10 hours and am very tired and cant spell. lol. Getting close to going to mechanic.

happy, happy, happy. FOund 1 computer from an 88 bronco, took my chance on exceptance, because i had no numbers to gofrom on computer. it took, and truck has spark. But i think it fried a couple of sensors along with it though. namely the ftps. But she's running.
