Is this normal?

I have a 01 350 PSD with 96k miles, AT. The accelertor pedal relay was clicking whenever the pedal was touched. I installed a new one which was supossed to be an updated version. It made no change. The foreman at the dealer said all the drive by wire trucks do this. Is he jerking me around? Thanks, Bill

The click you are hearing is the idle validation switch. Yes it is normal but shouldn't be very noticable.
