ok so i have been trying to tune this commander 950... i tried for about a month or so... was having issues so i took it to a dyno tuner.... they had it for a week and couldnt get it ... this is what its doing... well first it wont idle right either at 1000 - 1100 or its barely at 500 and keeps dying... then at around 1400 it hickups and i can see the injectors sputtering and getting all screwey... it seems to be at 1400 rpms no matter what the map pressure is. its like a wall... so when/if it pushes through that it does it again at around 2800... i am running an msd pro-billet dist with a msd 6a box... im all out of ideas and the guy at the shop called holley and they said i could send the ecu in and theyd check it out an see if there was something wrong with it... well i dont know how long the turn around on that will be, if anyone has any ideas i am more than willing to listen
thank you in advance and sorry about the long post

sounds either like tps or map. more likely sounds like map. I've seen map's do some pretty screwy things. I know GM (yes i know a dirty word) has either ohm readings or volt readings on their map sensors. If it reads out of those perameters then it's toast. Fords you can't read and as far as a holley, you got me. Call holley and see what reading tests you can perform on your map. Easy test to rule it out. Make sure everything else is in good operating order- ox sensor, vacuum lines, all connectors so on. Also (just hit me) could be getting a bad reading from the tps...like a dead spot in the pickup on the tps. Unlikely but possible!
The MSD ignition boxes are fairly finicky about where power and signal wires are routed. The tach wire needs to run separately from the power and signal wires and preferably along a steel panel. It almost sounds like an induced signal to the Holley ECU is causing it to misread the RPM.
thanks guys. ill try to trouble shoot the map sensor and check and re-route that tac wire to make sure its not getting any signal screw-ups when i have a day off thats not raining, or just a day thats not raining for that matter. i really dont want to have to send the ecu away to have it checked, and REALLY dont want to have to buy a new one. thanks again for the help. if y'all think of anything else im all ears

i just got off the phone with a tech guy at holley. he said that when he gets the ecu he will have check and sent it back on its way in no more than 2 days. now that doesnt sound too bad.
rusty if you have any ideas id sure like to hear them
