problems?

ive got an 84' bronco II its havin problems gettin over 45mph. it will get there and beyond but when it hits it it loses umph and really accelarates slow. im goin to replace the rotor, cap, wires ,and plugs as instructed by a good friend of mine. is this the rite thing to do or any ideas??

Also check your timing change the air fillter, you may also want to run a fuel system cleaner change the fuel fillter and use some carb cleaner.

ok ill do that thanks im hopin this will fix it. my fam wants me to take it to a mechanic but i dont see the point if i can do it myself. thanks.
