I just got my dynomax bullets and hi-flow cats put on. The exit is right in front of the right rear tire. It sounds awesome. I would recommend them to anyone.
There are a few factors that must go into consideration when putting these mufflers on. I realized that I live in PA, where emissions testing is done each and every year. I put on two high flow cats in front of the mufflers. True duals are the way to go on a V8. The sound is much different from my flowmaster that I had on there before. On Dynomax's website it says that this muffler is about as close to straight pipe as you can get. Have you ever heard a straight piped 4.9 before. I have and it sounded decent, as long as the compression is still up to par.
Mine has around 80k on the rebuild, it runs very strong and has a few other mods done to it. The compression is close to stock however, do you think I should reconcider putting a straight through muffler on my inline six?
I think that the bullets would be a good choice for your 300. I would recommend either getting a high flow cat or cutting of the old one and replacing it with a dynomax bullet. The stock cat deadens so much noise. If you get a bullet and remove the cat try to mount the bullet as close to the engine as you can. Just remember that the shorter the pipe you have the louder it will be. Like in front of the rear tire.
