While you're getting the spark plugs, also make sure you get a distributer cap and rotor with COPPER, and not aluminum. The 10 bucks more you pay now will come back to you over the next tank or two, and it'll last.
How much fuel mileage do you gain from a copper cap and rotor?
I'm the orig owner of a 95 Eddie Bauer with all nickels (5 speed, 5 liter, 355 rear) and I'm pushing 160K, so I sorta know my truck. I have one experience where I went with "cheap", and it dropped me from 15 Avg to 14.5 MPG or so. In other words, I got ~510 miles out of both tanks instead of ~525, so one gallon/fillup. I'm really **** about this and keep a notepad in my visor where I record date-mileage-gals and also all mainteneace. Ohhh, and while my truck has a useable fuel capacity of 37.5 gallons, I NEVER run both tanks dry at the same time ;-)
BTW, "hi performance" low resistance wires also cost me 1 MPG.
