A co-worker and I were discussing the vehicle ordering process and a question came up...

What if a truck is ordered and the customer refuses to accept it after it arrives, or while it is being built???

Just wondering.....

Talking yeehah !

I just spoke to my dealer. he said that once the truck is received it is taken into his stock, so the ordered truck is eligable for the $2500 rebate. Also, he thought the AQHA $500 rebate was good after 30 days of being a member. Party on wayne.

Red face phew!

yeah, that's what I thought he would say too. We'll see when it comes to signing the papers So far this guy's been really good about helping me spend my money . He talked me out of the 350 since I don't do any serious hauling with it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Good Luck

A couple of notes:

1) rebates apply to out of stock or ordered units- the key is the ordered unit has to be delivered during the stated rebate period. Rebates are determined by the delivery date, not the order date.

2) What if a truck is ordered and the customer refuses to accept it after it arrives, or while it is being built???
That's up to the dealer. This should be covered at time of order- each dealer will have a different policy. A lot depends on what you ordered, or if it's being shipped to another dealer for delivery.

Smile thanks for the clarification

thanks,
What I was worrying about was without the rebate I was going to have to finance some of it. So far this dealer has been real good.

Thanks polarbear for the clarification....

My son used to sell cars (chebbys, actually)....he said that the policy for GM (or at least his dealership) in regards to rebates and dealer stock was this:

If the vehicle was bought from current stock OR ordered by the customer, it was considered to be in dealer stock....the only exception was if a vehicle was found via the locator system at another dealership and was tranferred. Apparently, there is an issue with a "locator" vehicle where the original dealer gets the holdback money or something to that effect....interesting.

The AQHA rebate is good after a 60 day waiting period. That's what the deal was when I joined in January.

In my case, I would be out a thousand dollars! That was the requirement to order a truck that they would not be able to sell or hardly give away...You know the story: V10 engine.

Unhappy the customer looses the downpayment

that's what the dealer told me the downpayment was. I either take the truck when it comes in, or forfiet the down.

How does this sound for a deal, I'll get the current $2500 rebate, I use the brochure coupon for another $1000, I can use the 03/04 owner $2500 rebate, I'm a business owner so I may be able to use the Commercial Connection (Upfitter) rebate of $500 AND another $500 for the Military Appreciation program. That would be $7000 off invoice price, sounds too good doesn't it?

Unfortunately, it does. See if the brochure coupon is compatible with other private offers. Ford has a "rule of 1" and "rule of 2" on various private offers, limiting the total number that can be combined.
